QUITE SOMETHING –

ABOUT THE MAGAZIN

Every day we’re swamped with bad news and a constant but random stream of social media content outlining negative messages and reinforcing unrealistic ideals. We are the antidote. We are people on the search for meaning, with open eyes and hearts, who simply refuse to brush everything aside. The fact that this world sometimes isn’t that bad is often overlooked. And this is where we come into play: it’s time to fetch the light of life!

quite something is the creator of a peaceful space within the magazine world that rewards your attention with time to breathe, some dizzying meaningful content, and quite simply a great read.

Our favourite color is transparent, so we want to let you in on the criteria which we use to select content for the magazine:

Content

We’re an editor-less magazine. All the content comes from readers themselves and from people we encounter on our daily quest for inspiration and encouragement. People who are facing challenges or confronting an often harsh reality write stories for us and lend their authentic voices to the magazine, instead of allowing their daily grind bring them down.

Everybody, who wants to share their story or artwork is able to do so. There’s just one rule: only content that feeds your heart and soul will be printed. To thank you for your contribution and your sincerity, we will send you a copy of the issue and a limited edition author’s goodie-bag.

HERE you can become part of the next issue.

CONCEPT

Briefly speaking: quite something is a way of conveying honest thoughts on paper, coming to you in the form of a magazine that focuses on positivity – without any filter. There’s just one rule: only content that feeds your heart and soul will be printed. Without providing a platform for religious or political opinions, quite something gives readers an alternative outlook on the world. Not in a naive or glorifying way, but rather in an authentically optimistic way. We want to counteract the negative bias that mass media seems to fall prey to, while being your guide whenever you have lost your way. Maybe we could even change a life.

quite something widens your horizon by letting you walk a mile in the shoes of another person, by introducing you to projects that make you believe in the inherent good in people, and make you also want to contribute. Reports of overcoming difficulties, starting projects, and personal growth are all sources of inspiration and motivation for self-reflection.

TARGET GROUP

To exclude particular readership groups is against quite something’s DNA. There is no restriction on age, political persuasion, or religious leaning – it’s all about the mindset: People who are on a path to figuring out what this life can teach us and the hiccups that turn into the greatest memories, as each one of us meanders through challenges and unique situations with a more than healthy dose of optimism. Our wish is that ordinary folk like us pinpoint our very own magic by reading and relating to others’ similar but different lives. Let’s connect, learn, laugh, and let go together.

We envisage our readers to hold quite something in their hands and through our stories enable them to access their true selves, their emotional intelligence and their passion for beautiful but sustainable objects. We want to find the essence of the modern reader. We want to gather a community on- and offline. Our stories are your stories.

PRODUCTION & DISTRIBUTION

quite something is an annual Print-Magazine, which was developed in Munich as a project dear to our hearts. 1500 copies are sustainably produced close to Munich, and we pour love into every single one. Issue 01 & issue 02 were mainly distributed in Germany and Austria. However, we are excited that issue 03 will be in English and therefore available throughout Europe.
